Recent Advancements on Design and Development of Multi Drop Auto-Walk | Chapter 4 | Advanced Aspects of Engineering Research Vol. 3

People are very busy in today’s world, particularly in urban areas, and they move constantly and quickly. With technological advances, there is a vast opportunity to fully understand this people flow experience. The autowalk, also known as the walkalator or movelator, is a device that is used to carry people horizontally or laterally from one position to another. The proposed system is made up of a pulley with a belt arrangement or a pallet arrangement that is driven by a motor. Today’s autowalks can only carry people from one point to another; however, for areas where people must travel in a broad spread direction rather than point to point, additional devices or improvements to the current setup are needed to meet such needs. Without a question, technological advances and the parallel increase in people’s urban lifestyles often contribute to a need for better lifestyle solutions. The people flow traffic is optimised in this multidrop autowalk by having a sub-platform that moves in tandem with the main lane. This multidrop autowalk can be found in a number of locations, including department stores, airports, shopping malls, theme parks, and exhibitions. And this initiative will leave a mark on the development path that serves such a need.
